Children's Ministry Team
Fun with a focus, play with a purpose! Our approach to Children's ministry is to engage active minds and bodies in understanding the gospel message and applying it to their lives in a way that is exciting and enjoyable for children. Our Children's Ministry happens both inside the church (Sunday school, special events) and outside the church (Cary Reynolds Elementary School volunteer activities, the community development ministry we serve at in the Pearl Lane apartment area, vacation Bible school, Operation Christmas Child, and other outreach efforts).
Ministry Specifics:
The Children’s Ministry Team is responsible for the oversight of children from birth through elementary school. Our primary goal is to ensure that every child that Open Table Community interacts with has the opportunity to hear the Gospel. Long term, we want every child involved in the ministry to be a self-feeding disciple of Christ and to be able to tell others the Gospel.
We want to come alongside families to assist them in guiding their children on their spiritual journey. This includes helping children to understand that they can rely on the Holy Spirit to guide them on the path that God has uniquely given to them.
Ways people can get involved:
If you enjoy working with children, we would love to talk with you. Our primary needs are for Sunday school teachers and assistants at the nursery/toddler, preschool and elementary levels. Additionally, help is always welcome in creating fun scenery or introducing music to the children. Because we desire the children to have an “other focus”, we do need assistance in assembling and delivering care packages to Cary Reynolds or other needed places. If you enjoy hosting parties for children or brainstorming ideas, we can always use creative inspiration!
