Community Development Team
“Taking the church outside the walls and into the world” is our privilege and our calling at Open Table. We stay in touch and get people connected to the larger calling of the church in Chamblee and Doraville.
Ministry Specifics:
The Community Development Team is responsible for coordinating and giving oversight to the variety of community direct service projects. Our goal is to make the Kingdom of God tangible in the Chamblee Doraville area of Atlanta through efforts at the Pearl Lane Apartment Complex and in partnership with Cary Reynolds Elementary School. One of the significant functions of the team is to be the information link to the broader community development efforts and working with our partners: Cary Reynolds Elementary School, Cross-Cultural Ministries, Movers and Shakers, and Unite.
Ways to get involved:
After-school homework assistance for elementary children
Teaching and assisting in facilitating ESL/Survival English classes
Special events such as movie nights and cookouts in the community
Participate on team to organize activities and future outreach efforts
