Music Ministry Team
Worship is a lifestyle; music, dance, art and prayer are modes of expression. It is the calling and passion of the music team to activate and nurture a diversity of expressions at Open Table that open us to the magnificence, mystery, and celebration of God.
Ministry Specifics:
The purpose of the music ministry is to help lead others in the body of Christ into worship of our Heavenly Father. To do this, members of the music ministry seek to produce music and experiences of praise that will bless the congregation and reflect God’s heart. This involves a lifestyle of worship by the team members, technical competence (whether in voice, instrument, sound board, or video/computer), and sensitivity to the Spirit’s lead. As God leads, the music team also seeks to facilitate worship outside of Sunday morning times, and to use the gift of music in community development and outreach efforts of the church.
Ways people can get involved:
There are several ways in which to be involved in the music ministry. Our three primary needs are for people to operate the sound equipment, to play and sing music, and to run the visual equipment. Running sound involves learning how to adjust the vocal and instrumental output of the musicians/preachers/speakers through the sound board, and the sound from the video equipment as well as some recording as well. These roles involve coming to weekly practices, praying for the ministry, and facilitating worship on Sunday mornings. Those involved with the visual aspects of production run the software through which lyrics are displayed for the congregation as well as any videos that might be used during the service or for other events/outreach activities.
